Thunder Lose, 6-3, as Liberty Rally
With catcher Bryan Spilsbury leading the charge, the Philadelphia Liberty defeated the Toronto Thunder, 6-3, at Thunder Field. Spilsbury was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Chih Hoong, now 6-2, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Dick Hill wrapped it up, recording his 25th save.

Spilsbury had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Kevin Brown, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Liberty a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Spilsbury.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Spilsbury.

The Liberty raised their record to 47-44.
