The Ft. Worth Cattlemen beat the Philadelphia Liberty, 7-2, at The Cattle Pen. Ft. Worth designated hitter Willie Nelson had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The 6th-place Cattlemen now sit at 47-45.

In the first inning, Nelson had a 3-run home run for Ft. Worth. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Cattlemen on top, 3-0.
