Greenville Stops Lacasa's Hit Streak Monday, July 14th, 2042 Lautaro Lacasa came rolling into today's game against the Greenville 84s with a 25-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at 84s Field. The 21-year-old Hollywood Shredders third baseman went 0-for-3 against the 84s as the Shredders fell, 4-3. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." This season Lacasa has hit at a .331 clip and produced 21 RBI, 1 home run and 29 runs. |
