Free-for-All Costs Wacher and Yates 3-Game Suspensions
Tuesday, May 29th , 2063
When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Toronto's Douglas Wacher and New Orleans's Dexter Yates were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 3 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Wacher charged Yates.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
This year, Wacher is hitting .212, produced 8 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 9 times and gotten on base at a .300 rate.
To this point in the season, Yates has rung up no saves in 5 relief appearances. He has also crafted a 2.89 ERA, 1 win and no losses and 7 strikeouts in 9.1 innings.
