He easily handled Battery pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Grey Wolves triumph, 12-3, at Charleston Armory. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Ortíz's quip, Battery skipper Matt Hunt said he "would take him up on that next time." Xavier Ortíz hit a two-run triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Mike White in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
