Veeck Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, July 20th , 2061 The number just keeps getting higher. New Orleans right fielder Chris Veeck has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 3 at-bats as the New Orleans won the game, 6-4, over the Toronto Thunder at Thunder Field. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Toronto manager Jordan Smith said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Chris Veeck flied out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Brandon Fox in the 6th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season, Veeck has hit .304 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 35 times. |
