Hewat Swings for the Cycle
Saturday, July 5th , 2059
At Pacesetter Park, Roy Hewat led Detroit to a win, 9-3, over the Toledo Stingers by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Hewat said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-4, Hewat chalked up 2 RBI and scored 4 runs in an exceptional performance.
Roy Hewat hit an RBI single in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Michael Kilshaw in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Batting .333 to date, Hewat has 1 home run and 4 RBIs.
