Veeck Rips Colorado for 5 Hits Thursday, July 27th , 2062 Chris Veeck was sizzling at the plate. The New Orleans right fielder blistered the Colorado Billy Goats for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 13-9. "Veeck was too tough to get out today," Billy Goats skipper Mack Kilkeary said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win." Chris Veeck singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
