Andrés López Hurt, Out for Year Sunday, September 16th , 2063
The doctors have spoken and Andrés López of the Boston Patriots didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old first baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. López sustained his season-ending injury during the Toronto Thunder game yesterday at Dunkin Donuts Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Boston medical staff reported López had torn ankle ligaments and would be absent from the lineup for at least 3 months.
Thus far this year, López has hit .286 with 8 home runs and 38 RBIs.
