Washington's Alvarado Will Miss Season Wednesday, July 26th , 2062 The doctors have spoken and Arturo Alvarado of the Washington Generals didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Alvarado sustained his season-ending injury during the Pontiac Godfathers game yesterday at Washington Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Washington medical staff reported Alvarado had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months. This year, Alvarado has chalked up a 0.34 ERA with no saves. In 13 relief appearances he has put up a 1-0 won-lost mark and struck out 15 batters in 26.2 innings. |
