Hit Streak Now at 20 for Wierenga Saturday, July 27th , 2058 Expos center fielder Hedde Wierenga has extended his hitting streak to 20 games. He went 4-for-5 in today's game against the Yucca Valley Yellows. Niagara Falls won the ballgame, 15-6. "Got a hit and a win," he said later. "OK, I'll take it." Hedde Wierenga flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rafiq bin Zuhair in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Wierenga has collected 77 hits for the Expos this year, 10 of them home runs. He has also netted 38 RBIs and scored 28 runs while batting .297. |
