Fletcher and Goff Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, July 17th , 2061 Yesterday at The Ballpark on the Beach Milton Fletcher and Adrian Goff got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the South Beach Blaze and Delmarva Gallos. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Fletcher will have to sit out 5 while Goff would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year, Fletcher is batting .305 with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year, Goff has recorded a 4-4 mark. In 13 starts he has fanned 49 batters in 66.2 innings with a 3.91 ERA. |
