Blaze Shut Out Rogues, Machado Winner Wednesday, July 25th , 2063 The South Beach Blaze shut out the Newmarket Rogues, 5-0, behind the strong pitching of Ánibal Machado. Machado surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 4. Following the last out, Machado appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Newmarket manager Clay Myers, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Machado's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Rogues skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Blaze press conference, Machado confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Machado said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," South Beach manager Gerald Merendino added.
