Trade: Snow for Pak Saturday, July 23rd , 2061 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Rock City announced today the acquisition of 19-year old minor league RHP Mark Peterson, 20-year old minor league C Alfredo Silva, and 18-year old minor league CF Yong-hoon Pak from the Montana Pandas in exchange for 25-year old RHP J.R. Snow, 31-year old RHP Johnny Flannery, and $622,000 in cash. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Rock City, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Detroit will retain a portion of Snow's remaining contract. In 14 starts this season, Snow has recorded 3 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 62.2 innings, allowed 67 hits, struck out 54 and has a 4.45 ERA. |
