Thunder-White Walkers Deal: Slaymaker for Cole Saturday, August 4th , 2063 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Toronto and Buffalo have made a swap with 34-year old C Lance Slaymaker being shipped to the White Walkers and in return the Thunder would get 22-year old minor league SS Lúcio Ramos and 23-year old minor league RHP David Cole. Toronto general manager Jordan Smith said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Toronto organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Toronto will retain a portion of Slaymaker's remaining contract. To date, Slaymaker has collected 54 hits for a .277 average. He has posted 9 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 26 runs. |
