Doom Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, August 11th , 2062 Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Thulsa Doom said his club's tilt with the Echo Park Lakers "felt almost like batting practice." The 24-year-old center fielder went a remarkable 5-for-7 at the plate. "I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later. However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Long Island Lighthouse, who were topped by the Lakers, 9-8. "It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Lighthouse manager Michael Esposito said. "Sometimes Thulsa is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-7 and lose than go 0-for-7 and lose." Thulsa Doom singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th and grounded out in the 14th.
