Cruz Receives SL Newcomer of the Year Award Saturday, November 11th , 2062 When Júlio Cruz stepped onto the baseball field, he meant business. His solid play this year has netted the Philadelphia rookie shortstop the United States Silver League Newcomer of the Year Award for 2062. Playing in 103 games, he hit for a .313 average with 128 hits, 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and 60 runs scored. Bobby Monroe of the Echo Park Lakers finished second in voting, while Dave Cooper of the Baltimore Bullets finished third. |
