Vargas's Hit Streak Soars to 25 Games Saturday, July 19th, 2036 With 2 hits at LA Forum today, Jesús Vargas added another game to his hitting streak -- the Athletic Club KC center fielder has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Athletic Club KC today, as they fell, 3-2, to the Echo Park Lakers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Jesús Vargas singled in the 1st, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season in 60 games, Vargas has hit at a .246 clip with 59 hits, 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
