Franke Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Toledo Thursday, July 11th, 2041 After 21 games, Sebastian Franke had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the Toledo Stingers at Oakland Coliseum. The Oakland Oaks second baseman failed to get a hit in 6 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Franke seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Oaks taking a 8-7 victory from the Stingers. "It was good while it lasted," Franke said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." Franke is hitting .363 so far this season with 23 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 81 hits including 2 home runs, 24 walks and .430 OBP. |
