Turner of Cape Coral Crowned Best Player Monday, June 11th , 2063 23-year-old Jon Turner sent shock waves through Menard's Third League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Menard's Third League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Turner made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .552 average, 16 hits in 29 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 runs batted in. Where the Cape Coral Hurricanes right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Turner certainly made his mark last week. This season, Turner is batting .396 with 21 hits, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs, 3 walks, .421 OBP and has scored 10 runs. He has played in 13 games. |
