Brooks Wins 3L Player of the Week Trophy
Monday, July 11th , 2061
23-year-old Phil Brooks sent shock waves through Menard's Third League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Menard's Third League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Brooks made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .688 average, 11 hits in 16 at-bats, no home runs and 1 run batted in.
Where the Kingston Ponies second baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Brooks certainly made his mark last week.
For the season, Brooks has produced 59 hits in 206 at-bats for a .286 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .316 clip.
