Cherono King of the Hill, No-Hits Bowties
Tuesday, July 12th , 2061
Immeghar Cherono was just plain nasty on the mound, overpowering the Buckhead Bowties in a complete game no-hitter.
The right-hander used his signature splitter to perfection as the Charleston Battery waltzed to an easy 8-0 win.
"He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager Kerry Hofmeister said later.
In a dominant performance, Cherono faced 30 batters in all and finished the game with 16 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Cherono said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."
In 10 starts this season, Cherono has registered a 5-3 record and a 3.18 ERA.
