Hurricanes End Taylor Streak
Wednesday, July 13th , 2061
The Oakland Oaks lost to the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 6-2, at The Oak Grove, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Brett Taylor's 20-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-4 on the day.
"We felt if we could slow down Taylor, we would win the game," Hurricanes manager Greg Diersing explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
So far on the season, Taylor is hitting .318 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 67 hits and played in 51 games.
