Alog Parks 3 for Vancouver Tuesday, August 9th , 2061 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. Vancouver third baseman Efren Alog tripled up on the home runs to propel the Grey Wolves to a win, 15-1, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams said. "Alog hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Alog collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Efren Alog hit a solo-shot off Hakizimana Kipkorir in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Hakizimana Kipkorir in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Francisco Colón in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. In his season totals, Alog has 15 home runs, .295 BA, .388 OBP, 55 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has played in 68 games. |
