The Oakland Oaks left fielder sustained a season-ending injury against the Long Island Lighthouse and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Gutiérrez was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 11 months. This season, Gutiérrez has hit at a .284 clip with 49 RBIs, 14 home runs and 49 runs scored. He has played in 88 games. |
