Divided left fielder Víctor Sánchez left the Thunder Bay pitching staff in ruins at Washington Stadium, beating the Northern Lions BC, 23-2, with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Sánchez told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the D.C. left fielder had 3 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 7 and scored 4 runs. Víctor Sánchez walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Brant Atkinson in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Brant Atkinson in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Walliyullah Brown in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. |
