Otani Smashes 3 HR Saturday, July 18th, 2037 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Crane Field buzzing, Alaskan Humpbacks first baseman Shohei Otani blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 13-8 win over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. "Everything was clicking," Otani told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Otani shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Humpbacks manager John Carney said. "Shohei played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Shohei Otani grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Cipriano Pinto in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Salvador Torres in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Alejandro García in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This season Otani is batting .392 with 47 hits, 8 home runs, 34 RBIs, 10 walks, .435 OBP and has scored 19 runs. He has played in 40 games. |
