Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, June 21st , 2061 Yesterday at Dog Park in Ellenburg Claudio Muñóz and Al Moore got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Syracuse Starks and Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Muñóz will have to sit out 4 while Moore would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Muñóz is currently batting .346 with no home runs and 3 RBIs. This season, Moore has made no relief appearances with no saves. In 40.1 innings he has fanned 31 hitters and recorded 3 wins and 3 losses with a 4.69 ERA. |
