Silva Wins PAAA Honor Monday, August 1st , 2061 Gilberto Silva is respected by most Bakersfield Nobles fans for his no-frills style of play. The 30-year-old right fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the USPL Triple A Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .444 average (8-for-18) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. So far this season, Silva has gotten 58 hits in 219 at-bats for a .265 batting average with 14 home runs.
