Rice Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times
Thursday, August 11th , 2061
Baton Rouge Brass left fielder Logan Rice sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Sacramento Redlegs, Rice told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Rice pushed the Brass past the Redlegs, 10-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Rice told reporters after the game.
Logan Rice hit a two-run home run off Mauro RamÃrez in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sabri Didier in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Sabri Didier in the 6th.
Rice is hitting .417 this year with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .463, 5 walks and scored 11 times.
