Ng Scorches Squirrel Monkeys for 3 HR Tuesday, September 4th , 2063 Jing-zhong Ng went on an explosive hitting spree against the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at Jersey City Grounds, launching a trio of blasts to help the Jersey City Tritons win, 10-8. The third baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Ng said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Syracuse skipper Ramón Barrueco said Ng was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Jing-zhong Ng hit a solo-shot off Todd Turner in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Todd Turner in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Volmer Aalbers in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. So far on the season, Ng is hitting .220 with 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 46 hits and played in 62 games. |
