Jersey City Dazzled, Hoong Hurls No-Hitter Monday, September 17th , 2063 In a dominant outing, Chih Hoong of the Montreal Machine totally silenced the bats of the Jersey City Tritons, finishing with a no-hitter. In the 5-0 victory, Hoong faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Montreal manager Alfonso Vera said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Edward Whipp told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game. "The Machine had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Hoong pitched a heck of a ballgame."
