Willoughby Socks it to Rocks, Cracks 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 10th, 2037
Today at Nuclear Stadium, John Willoughby put on an impressive display.

The Scranton Supernovas third baseman tagged Plymouth pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Plymouth Rocks by the score of 6-4.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Willoughby said. "5-for-7 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the Supernovas manager was unwilling to offer his third baseman much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.

"John told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Micheal Garren said.

John Willoughby flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.

In 6 games this season Willoughby has batted at a .467 pace with 14 hits and 1 home run.
