Goldobenko Smacks 3 Out of the Park Thursday, June 9th, 2039 Stephen Goldobenko went on an explosive hitting spree against the Calgary Lynx at Belugas Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Brinkley Belugas to the 13-1 win. The right fielder finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Goldobenko said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Calgary skipper Thomas Campbell said Goldobenko was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Stephen Goldobenko hit a solo-shot off Xiao-shuang Wong in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Hernández in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jesús Hernández in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Goldobenko has a .348 average and a .443 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 39 hits, 6 home runs and driven in 15 runs. |
