Rails Held Hitless by Dickey
Friday, June 10th , 2061
In a dominant outing, David Dickey of the Northville Eclipse totally silenced the bats of the Richland Rails, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 3-0 victory, Dickey faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Northville manager Daniel Katz said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Ludovic Fontaine told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Eclipse had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Dickey pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season, Dickey has gone 1-2 with an ERA of 4.36, posting 33 strikeouts in 33 innings.
