Season Ends for Francisco Valenzuela of Ottawa
Thursday, June 8th , 2062
Ottawa closer Francisco Valenzuela could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Lancaster game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Valenzuela would be out 13-14 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Up to this point in the season, Valenzuela has put up these stats: 11 relief appearances, 2 saves, 10.2 IP, 9 strikeouts and 5.06 ERA. His won-lost record is 3-2 with the opposition is hitting .302 against him.
