William Chávez Injured, Out for Year
Sunday, June 18th , 2062
Asheville starting pitcher William Chávez could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Ottawa game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Chávez would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
So far this season, Chávez has logged a 0-1 record with a 3.45 ERA. He has started 1 games, hurled 15.2 innings and registered 13 strikeouts and 8 walks.
