Schmidt and de Jonge Brawl, League Suspends Them Tuesday, July 21st , 2054 After an intense confrontation, both the Dolphins Pat Schmidt and the MotorBoaters Timmo de Jonge were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Pine Island-Lake Murray game. Pat Schmidt will miss 4 games, while Timmo de Jonge was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Pat Schmidt commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." For the year Schmidt is batting .237 with 38 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 16 times and driven in 18. This year de Jonge has compiled a 3-5 mark with a 3.86 ERA. |
