Page, Downs Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, July 27th , 2061 If there wasn't a history between Glenn Page of Pine Island and David Downs of Northville, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Page said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." To date, Page has collected 29 hits for a .216 average. He has posted 2 home runs, scored 11 runs and driven in 9 runs. This year, Downs has a 5-3 mark in 13 starts with a 2.68 ERA. He has given up 59 hits in 74 innings, struck out 80 and issued 29 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .215 batting average against him. |
