League Suspends Kawaguchi Saturday, September 1st , 2063 The league has issued a 4-game suspension to Farmers right fielder Shigeaki Kawaguchi for his bad conduct yesterday at the Lancaster-Ottawa game at Nationals Park. Kawaguchi was tossed out of the game for heatedly questioning a third-strike call. Once the home plate umpire ejected him, Kawaguchi ran over to argue more, even though the umpire warned him specifically, "Don't you come over here." Kawaguchi then retreated to the dugout, where he threw several bats onto the field and followed with a toss of an athletic trainer's bag. Later, Kawaguchi ran out of the clubhouse tunnel to continue arguing -- a big no-no for a player who has already been thrown out. So far this season, Kawaguchi has recorded a .311 batting average with 74 hits, 7 home runs, 29 RBIs, 37 runs scored and a .388 OBP. |
