Big Day for Large: Swats 5 Hits Tuesday, August 10th , 2060 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for King Large -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Virginia Beach Grounds and paced the 10-9 Rails win over the Virginia Beach Whales. After his dynamite batting performance, the Richland center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. King Large doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
