What does it take to win the Outstanding Pitcher Award?

Just ask Ron Jackson of the Yakima Hops -- the latest M3L Double A Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.

"My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Outstanding Pitcher Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career."

The Hops pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 13 games and losing only 3. In 19 starts, Jackson registered a 2.84 ERA and limited other clubs to a .249 batting average. He fanned 101 in 136.1 innings and issued 47 walks.

He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 12. John Moore of the Asheville Highlanders finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Neil Smith of the Asheville Highlanders finished third.
