Calhoun Spins 8-0 Shutout Saturday, June 18th , 2061 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Steve Calhoun of the Gulf Coast Turbeaus blanked the Billings Polar Bears, 8-0, at The Igloo, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 7-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Calhoun said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Calhoun walked 0 and struck out 5 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Polar Bears manager Justin Broadfoot said later.
