Kevin Bates Nabs Best Player Trophy

Kevin Bates took USSL Double A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 25.
For his spectacular campaign, the Durham Rapiers star has been named the 2039 USSL Double A Outstanding Hitter Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the center fielder.
On the season he compiled a .303 batting average to go with a .380 on-base percentage. The native of Gainesville, Florida also added 27 doubles, 6 triples, 24 home runs, 67 RBIs and 97 runs scored.
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. General Booty of the Casper Ghosts finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Keaton Kringlen of the Lancaster Farmers finished third with 1 first place vote.
