Russell Week's Best Player Monday, September 7th , 2054 Yakima fans have something to crow about today as Yakima first baseman Tim Russell nabbed the USSL Double A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Russell. He posted a .375 average (12-for-32) this past week with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. Russell is currently batting .215 with 15 home runs, 61 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 62 hits in 289 at-bats. |
