Turner Hot, Pierogis Cold Sunday, September 17th , 2062 The Squirrel Hill Pierogis had no answer for Barton Springs Blues pitcher Will Turner. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 7-0. Squirrel Hill managed only 7 hits off Turner, who had 4 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Turner got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Blues fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible." This season, Turner has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 4-7 won-lost mark and a 4.03 ERA. In pitching 111.2 innings, he has totaled 95 strikeouts and 15 walks.
