Going, Going, Gone! Peña Hits 3 Homers
Sunday, September 17th , 2062
Juan Peña of the Polar Bears went on a hitting spree at The Igloo and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a loss, 8-5, to the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas.
"I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Peña said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
The Billings first baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
Juan Peña hit a solo-shot off Dale Bernard in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dale Bernard in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dale Bernard in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
So far this year, Peña has 16 home runs and a .349 batting average.
