Playoffs Won't Happen for Pierogis Thursday, September 4th , 2059 The Squirrel Hill Pierogis may still need a piece or two before becoming championship material in USSL Double A. The team has fallen short of its playoff goals this year, being officially eliminated from the playoffs today. "I feel like we have a great group," Pierogis manager Ben Cooper said. "We happened to come up short or our goal, though. We'll re-tool and be back stronger next season." The Pierogis have missed the playoffs 13 times in their 14 years as a USSL Double A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 10th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2026. Squirrel Hill has won the SL AA Championship 3 times in their history. |
