Players Suspended in Shooters-Blimps Donnybrook Sunday, August 3rd, 2042 Yesterday at Springfield Stadium Bartolo Tasis and Michael Ramsey got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Springfield Shooters and Akron Blimps. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Tasis will have to sit out 4 while Ramsey would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Tasis has a .245 average and a .307 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 34 hits, 5 home runs and driven in 25 runs. This season Ramsey has 2 wins and 4 losses and a 5.15 ERA. |
