Blimps End Ballard's Streak Saturday, August 17th, 2041 Lady Luck was not on the side of Byron Ballard or his teammates today at Mercer Island Grounds. Everything went the way of the Akron Blimps, who not only came away with the 3-2 victory over Mercer Island, but also held Ballard hitless in 2 at-bats to put an end to his 22-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Ballard said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." So far this season Ballard has 2 home runs and a .336 batting average. |
